BATCH VS CONTINUOUS PROCESSING IN HINDI | Difference | Production Systems | BBA/MBA | ppt

This video consists of the following:

1.   Concept of batch production system: This is characterized by variety of products in varying volumes. Here the production schedules is made according to specific order or on the basis of demand forecasts. In batch system, new batch is undertaken for production only when the work on all items of a batch is complete. Here, after the production of one batch, the plant and machines become available to other batches of similar type of product.  

2.   Concept of continuous production system: Continuous production system involves a continuous or almost continuous physical flow of materials. It makes use of special purpose machines and produces standardized items in large quantities. The examples are petrochemical, cement, steel, sugar and fertilizer industries, etc. In a Continuous Production System, the items are produced for the stocks and not for specific orders.  

3.   Difference between batch production system and continuous production system (in tabular form) on the basis of following points:
